What Will I Do With A Baby?
This morning I had to take my little Yorkie, Maggie, to the vet and leave her. She has a tumor on one leg that is going to be removed and an injury on another leg that is going to get a good cleaning. She was so nervous while we were waiting in the office. She was shaking worse than she ever has. I kissed her and kissed her and told her I loved her before I left. Then I cried most of the way home. This is my dog!! What am I going to be like when I have my baby? My Maggie is so spoiled and is my baby right now. How is she going to take to having a baby? I hope my Johanna is super-healthy and that I never have to leave her like that.

I know what you mean! I can't stand to leave my baby dog anywhere. If I have to, I cry...a lot...and it's not a sweet little cry...it's one of those big ugly ones! Don't worry, dear...if you ever have to leave your daughter somewhere, you will probably cry, but it's OK. I think all moms have done it at some point.

Before kids I was just like you. My dogs were my babies...and even with a veterinarian for a husband I was still a nervous wreck when they had to have any procedures done.
I found though that when you have kids you do what you have to do. I don't know what it is, but there's something that kicks in that makes it possible to bear whatever you have to do to make them feel better. Thankfully there will probably never be a time where you'll have to leave them like that. If, heaven forbid, your child had to spend the night in a hospital - you'll be able to stay with them. If they have a surgical procedure - you stay with them until right before they are wheeled into the operating room. The medical profession is becoming much more family friendly - thankfully. ;)
I know what you mean too! We have 3 "fur babies"! You've read my blog about Tabitha, thanks, so you know I am a perpetual worrier. I will pray that you have a referral soon! By the way what adoption agency are you using? I am fortunate, CCI (Celebrate Children International) my agency, had/has plenty of little girls to choose from. They have 10 girls still currently.--Becky Taylor
I know exactly what you are talking about....
Before Angelena there was Jasmine, HoneySuckle, Rosie, SweetPea, and Ben.. 3 Dogs and 2 Cats... Slowly, due to unforseen reasons, Ben went away from Cancer.. I cried for weeks. Rosie ran away.. Or someone stoled her.. Crying and Anger.. SweetPea, rest his sole, got hurt and passed quickly... Yep... CRYING Again... Now, I have Jasmine which is a 16year old Golden, and HoneySuckle 7yr old Golden... Yes they both have had many complications, and problems, but they are both still kicking... Love them to death! They are now Angelena's best Friends too... But, when the kids are sick... You do what you have to at the time of need, then cry after... Animals and Kids, both are like kids... The crying and carry only shows how effectionate you are with your love ones! I seen NOTHING WRONG WITH IT! And as Terry said... You WILL cry the first time you leave your daughter... But it is because they are in your heart and your heart breaks for them!

I read this and so connected with it... we have a little Shih Tzu Murry... we talk to him like he is a person... we keep saying if we are this strange around the dog, how will we sound with our son... my daughter is 12, so our dog (age 4) just became our little baby!
