Waiting and Waiting

This is the absolute worst part of adoption. All the waiting. I am very thankful that my wait for PGN approval was short, only seven weeks. Now I am waiting for Johanna's new birth certificate from Mixco. Mixco has set up their own little approval system. I guess they don't trust PGN or something. The civil registry in Mixco can take up to 30 days to approve a case for a new birth certificate. After they approval it takes a few more days to get the bc. It is really ridiculous because other towns give out bc's in days.

Let the praying begin!!! I am really praying hard that I get the birth certificate soon. I also have the prayer team at my church praying the same thing.

It must be so hard to be so close yet so far. I have heard the difficulty with this town though. Maybe you will be the lucky one.

I know how you feel! I thought the long wait was suppose to be in PGN...not after PGN. Hopefully we will both hear something soon!

I have had your blog on my favorite adopting from Guat blogs. From one adopting blogger to another...I said a prayer for you and your BC from Mixco. God Bless and hope you get your date soon! The new pics of your baby are so cute.

I hope you hear something soon! After waiting so long to get through the first part of the process and now having to wait for a Mixco BC...ugh! I really hope you hear something really soon!

I agree that the wait for PINK is the hardest, especially if you're expecting a longer than average wait. It may seem like it's taking forever, but you're still much closer to bringing her home than you were just a month ago. Praying that you hear good news soon!

Gail, Can you email me and let me know what size that outfit is that Johanna is wearing from Old Navy ? The one with the heart/stripes and matching blanket. I have one for Stella and was just wondering if it will fit her and if I should bring it or not. Cstarry1@new.rr.com . thanks. I will continue to pray for you. Courtney

I am hoping that you get good news - soon! I'm still in my PGN wait and have this to look forward to so I keep hoping they finally get their act together and quit being so difficult.

Some days it feels like the waiting never stops...

Oh those pesky Mixco birth certificates! I was one of the first to endure the long wait. Hopefully things are ironed out and the people working there will be compassionate and approve the birth certificates ASAP!

Glad you found my blog!

I have yet to find other CO Springs families w/ GUAT TOTS, but our lives have been CRAZY since arriving home w/ our first one.

A Mixco BC!! Wow! I will add you to my prayer list, too.

Our first Guat tot was born in Mixco, but before it all got so hard to get a BC.
