Angel at the Lab

A few days ago I emailed Pat at the lab to see if the dna sample had arrived there. I really didn't think it had yet but wanted to check anyway. Pat wrote back saying it wasn't there but she would keep me informed. She is such an angel!! Below is the email I just received.

start...usually takes about 7-10 days..some go faster but it totally

Cousins

When I posted about getting the new birth certificate one of my nephews commented that he can "hardly wait to meet his new cousin." This cousin of Johanna's happens to be 30 years old. He is the oldest first cousin. This is a list of Johanna's first cousins. Heath 29, Angel 29, Felix 27 (I think), Rachel 24, Pandy 20,Kristie 19, Rodrick 16, Sean 13 and Brooklen will be 11 in May. Hmmmm. I wonder who Johanna will play with at family gatherings? Thankfully, Heath, Angel and Felix all have young children. I also have several step nieces and nephews who have small children.

Yes, that is her new name!!!!
I emailed my agency coordinator this morning to find out when I was registered with the Mixco Civil registry. She emailed back and said the new passport was picked up Friday so evidently the birth certificate is already done. I can't believe it!!

I have so much to do. I have to finish the nursery. Find out about airline tickets. I am just floating today and don't even care anymore that I have an earache. I AM REALLY HER MOTHER NOW!!!!!!!!

7 Months Old

Johanna is 7 months old today. I really thought I would have her home by now.

Day of Prayer

Today has been declared a Day of Prayer for those waiting for Mixco bc's and those who will be waiting. We are also praying for changes in hearts of those working at the Mixco Civil Registry and Minors' Court. Please join us today in praying.

Puppies

I've had several people ask about the puppies. Molly had five within an hour and a half. The 3 smallest were about 2 oz. and the other two were about 4 oz. Two are no longer with us and we aren't sure the other tiny one will make it. Molly is not the best mother when it comes to starting the pups out.

Hopefully Anna will come in heat soon. She had two puppies last time and she is awesome with her mothering skills. Too bad she is so difficult to get along with otherwise. LOL

Making Money

Mom and I were going to go to the movie this afternoon. We didn't make it. We are home making money instead. At 3:45 pm Molly decided to have her first puppy. It is now 5:00 and so far she has had four. I know that dogs usually just have their pups on their own. However, when you can sell the pups for $600 - $800 each, you tend to take precautions.

Our Biggest Loser

Yes, he is real! Jez came for "Show-n-tell" today. He was here during the Valentine's Day party and then went downstairs to play with the kids. They had a great time.
Jez is doing well. He looks great and is so happy. I just love him to pieces and he is the winner to me even if he didn't win on the show.

Waiting and Waiting

This is the absolute worst part of adoption. All the waiting. I am very thankful that my wait for PGN approval was short, only seven weeks. Now I am waiting for Johanna's new birth certificate from Mixco. Mixco has set up their own little approval system. I guess they don't trust PGN or something. The civil registry in Mixco can take up to 30 days to approve a case for a new birth certificate. After they approval it takes a few more days to get the bc. It is really ridiculous because other towns give out bc's in days.

Let the praying begin!!! I am really praying hard that I get the birth certificate soon. I also have the prayer team at my church praying the same thing.

My Little Sweetheart

I got new pictures of Johanna Faith today. She is now 17.5 pounds. The outfit she has on is one I sent in her Valentine's Day package. I think the hat is too small. The first picture is my favorite!!!

Tagged!!

I have been tagged by about three people. I am not going to tag anyone since I think about everyone has been tagged. I will however, tell the seven weird things about myself.

1. At home I have to eat with certain spoons and only the two salad forks. I don't know why this is. I have no problems with silverware away from home.

2. I am afraid of the dark and sleep with a nightlight in my bathroom and the light on in the stairway. I also run a fan because I don't like the quiet.

3. I was an accident. I am 6.5 years younger than my closest sister. However, I am sure my mom can't imagine life without me.

4. I live with my mother and we even share a car. Hey! Rent is cheap!

5. Every one of my siblings has at least one child not born to them. I will now fit into the group.

6. I sleep with a stuffed dog. I had a rabbit for 20 years but left it at a hotel last summer and never got it back.

7. I can eat sunflower seeds faster than anyone. My mom laughs and calls me a parrot.
