Big Garage Sale Day

I had a garage sale today for about 4 hours. I think I did pretty well, making about $300. I only had a few "not-so-big" ticket items. One was $15 and two were $10. Most items were 50 cents so thats a lot of things sold to make that much money. A special thanks to everyone who donated items for my sale!!!

Not Quite Ready Afterall

Well, I thought everything was all set. Then I find out that my home study agency's license has expired and so has the SW's license. Seems simple. Just get copies of the new licenses. Nope! The agency has changed it's name sometime in the last month. Now I have to get the whole home study rewritten on new letterhead. Once I get that, it will go to Topeka for authentication and then to Houston. It seems it is always something. Good thing is, this doesn't take too long.

The Rabbit Dies!!!!

The mailman just brought my I-171H!!! I was dancing and yelling in the dining room. I emailed my agency immediately, called my sil and called one of my sisters. You all are the next to be notified. We are going out to celebrate tonight . . .maybe. My mom has been sick since Saturday so we may have to put the celebration on hold.
Gotta go post on my Yahoo Groups now.
Thanks for all the prayers!!
Love all of you!!

My ChipIn

I now have a ChipIn!! (Thanks Hayley and Mike.)
What is the ChipIn? It is a place to make direct donations toward my adoption. On it is my goal for the summer of $5,000. It also shows how much has been donated so far. This is actually only a part of what I still need to raise but would be a great dent to start with.

The Weekend Is Over

"What does that mean?" you might ask. It means I get to start anxiously waiting for the mailman every day until my I-171H comes. He is usually here around 11:30 which is when I am finishing making lunch and getting ready to serve it to the daycare kiddos. It's difficult to get to the mailbox at that time but I am sure I will manage EACH AND EVERY DAY.

Please Mr. Postman . . .

. . . please bring my I-171H . . . TODAY!! See my mailbox above? That is where you can put it . . . TODAY
The I-171H is what I need to get my referral. I thought I wanted to wait to get my referral as late as possible. I have since changed my mind. Reading the blogs of friends who are visiting their babies, getting out of FC, getting out of PGN and getting PINKS is making my desire for my referral even greater. Please, Mr. Postman!!!

At The Agency

I just checked my Fed Ex account and . . .
MY DOSSIER HAS BEEN SENT FROM HOUSTON TO AMARILLO!!!
I was just reading somewhere last night that it takes about 3 weeks to get the dossier authenticated at the consulate. Mine was gone in less than a week.
I am so excited!!! I have the hugest smile on my face right now.
BRING ON THE I-171H!!!

In My Escape Window

Yesterday there was a baby blue jay in the front yard. Mommy was up in the tree keeping a good eye on him. Today my niece's found three of them in the basement escape window. We put a bowl of bird seed in there and scared them almost to death. I did remove the well-cover. It is great because I can see them from inside so well. I hope they make it. Mommy is still up in the tree and has been in the well at least once, that we know of.

Fingerprints Done

Mom and I got our fingerprints done this morning in Wichita. It was so easy. It took about 30 minutes. The lady who did them was so nice. She asked what country I was adopting from and whether I was gettging a boy or girl. As I walked out the door, she wished me good luck. I hope I get my I-171H soon. I can get my referral when I have it. Then I will feel like it is soooooooo real.

I'm So Smart!! & It's Off - Again!!

Fed Ex delivered my psychological evaluation today. It came from Washington and has the Washington state seal on it. It is really neat. The best part is what was said about my intelligence. The Dr. said that I am "above average" in intelligence. I know all you married people are going to rush out and get the evaluations now. These are only required for singles adopting. So sorry.

As soon as I got the evaluation I stuck it in the next envelope with my dossier to go to the Guatemalan Consulate in Houston. It is already in the drop box. With it are the envelope to send it on to my agency. One more thing done!!

Changes to My Blog

I made some changes today in the "Blogs I Visit" space. I have changed it to "Friends Adopting From Guatemala." Under it I have tons of blogs. These are only people currently adopting. If you have already adopted, I will add another list for you. I still need to move out the blogs of those adopting from elsewhere. It took me so long to add to the list that I am not going to do the moving-out right now. I added the names of the mother and child next to the blog name, uless a name was in the title. If I have a name wrong or spelled incorrectly, please let me know. If you would like to be added to my list, please let me know that too. If a link does not work, tell me please.

Samuel Joseph

No, this isn't my baby. My nephew and wife had a baby at 2:30 a.m. today. His name is Samuel Joseph. He weighed 6 lbs. 12 oz. and was 19 inches long. He looks like his older brother Jacob. He also has a brother Ethan. I will get to see him on Monday.

The neice that had this baby is the one that I talk about being "pregnant with." Well, she isn't anymore and I am barely. I actually thought we would have our babies around the same time. Guess I am a little slow.

Congratulations Heath, Jenny, Jacob and Ethan. I love you guys!!!

My GREAT Great Relatives

Last Friday I took my mom to Nebraska for the 80th birthday of an aunt. There were many, many relatives there and most of them I haven't seen for awhile. What was really great was how many of them knew about my adoption and had been to my blog. My great-uncle Glen seemed very interested. He said he hadn't been to my blog for awhile so he had loads of questions to get himself updated. I just love these family members and am soooooo glad they are MY FAMILY!!!
